In the slim chance that you missed it, everyone’s favorite artist released a brand new single today. Yes, the Turnpike Troubadours decided to bless our Friday with the track “The Housefire” off their newest album, which currently has an October 20th release date. This song exemplifies the Turnpike Troubadours’ two main identifying characteristics: a nice, easy melody and Evan Felker’s unbelievably descriptive writing style. Listen for yourself:

If you haven’t heard of or listened to the Turnpike Troubadours yet, now is the perfect time to start. If you like country, you will love them. If you don’t like country, you’re in luck, because they’re actually in the ∼Oklahoma Red Dirt/Americana∼ genre.

For real though, there are very few groups that you can literally press play on any song (although I suggest “The Bird Hunters”) and get drawn in immediately, and these guys are one of them. Listen to their stuff on Spotify, and catch them on the new album tour coming this fall.
